Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2026

1. Provider and Scope

The provider of the LayoverLink app and service is ALPHA Counsel and Coaching UG (haftungsbeschränkt), Muthesiusstraße 6, 12163 Berlin, Germany, represented by its managing director Monika Katic, registered with the commercial register of the local court of Charlottenburg under HRB 205199 B, email: admin@layoverlinkapp.com (the “Provider”). These Terms govern use of the LayoverLink mobile application and related services by registered users (“Users”).

2. The Service

LayoverLink connects identity-verified airline crew who share a layover city and time period in automatically formed group chats. Membership is roster-driven; there is no manual joining. The Provider merely enables the possibility of contact and does not guarantee any outcome, connection, meeting, or a minimum number of other users in a city. The service is currently in a beta/pilot phase.

3. Registration, Eligibility and Verification

Use requires registration and a minimum age of 18. Eligibility is limited to active airline crew. For verification, the User uploads a photo of their work ID (crew badge) and a selfie, which the Provider reviews manually. The User warrants that all information is accurate and must not share access with third parties. There is no entitlement to verification; the Provider may decline verification without stating reasons. Processing of verification data is governed by the Privacy Policy.

4. User Obligations and Code of Conduct

Users undertake in particular to:

  • treat other users with respect; harassment, threats, discrimination and hate speech are prohibited;
  • not collect, store or share other users’ personal data, locations or roster information outside the service;
  • not use the service for commercial purposes, advertising or solicitation;
  • not transmit unlawful content or content infringing the rights of others;
  • not circumvent the safety or verification mechanisms.

5. User-Generated Content and Moderation

Users remain responsible for content they send in chat and grant the Provider the simple right, necessary to operate the service, to display and transmit such content within the service. Chat is provided technically via a processor (Stream). Users can report and block content and other users. The Provider may remove reported or unlawful content and may warn, suspend or exclude users.

6. Meetings Outside the Service; Safety

Verification reduces risk but cannot guarantee the identity or trustworthiness of other users. In-person meetings are undertaken at the User’s own responsibility. To the extent permitted by law, the Provider assumes no liability for the conduct of other users outside the service.

7. Availability, Price, Term

No specific level of availability is owed. Use is currently free of charge; the Provider may introduce paid features in future, which will be shown separately and require the User’s consent. The relationship runs for an indefinite term and may be ended by either party at any time; Users can delete their account in the app at any time, which includes removal of the chat identity held by the processor.

8. Suspension and Exclusion

In the event of breaches of these Terms, in particular the code of conduct, the Provider may temporarily suspend or permanently exclude the account. For serious breaches, immediate suspension without prior warning is permitted.

9. Liability

The Provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for damage to life, body or health. For ordinary negligence, the Provider is liable only for breach of a material contractual obligation and limited to foreseeable, contract-typical damage; otherwise liability is excluded. [Wording to be finalised by attorney.]

10. Privacy, Changes and Final Provisions

Details of the processing of personal data, in particular verification media, are set out in the separately provided Privacy Policy. The Provider may amend these Terms for the future where necessary and not unreasonably disadvantageous to the User, with at least 30 days’ prior notice. German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods; mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the User’s country of residence remain unaffected. The EU online dispute resolution platform is available at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Should any provision be invalid, the remaining provisions remain in force.
